If you are looking for something different, we are going to be talking about famous landmark virtual tours today. So, without further ado…
The White House, US
According to research polls when Obama was in control, the majority of Americans have never seen the inside of the White House. Well, whether you are from the U.S. or not, you can take a virtual tour of it using Google’s Arts and Culture App. There are also a couple of online exhibits you can check out, or you can search through using Google’s Street View.

Doge’s Palace, Italy
Again, using Google’s Arts and Culture App you can take a virtual tour of the famous Doge’s Palace. You can even explore around the different canals of Venice before actually entering the palace.

On their website, they state that they are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, they have recently implemented a new interactive timeline to help any history buffs learn more about the area – as well as making it a little more interesting for children.
Niagara Falls, Canada

While it’s not an actual virtual tour, there is a webcam set up to allow people to view the powerful falls, in all their beauty.
Ellis Island, US
Learn all about your ancestors entering the US via a virtual tour of Ellis Island. They also have an interactive historical timeline that you can view to learn a little more about it.
The Great Wall of China, China
According to my students, there is nothing like visiting the Great Wall of China – a place I intend to see for myself one day – until then, I will have to settle for the virtual tour of the place. This site also gives some information about actually visiting there, when the time comes.
Anne Frank’s Hiding Place, Amsterdam
Learn all about one family’s harrowing events during World War II by virtually touring through the different rooms of the house they hid in.
One of the most famous landmarks on the entire planet, Buckingham Palace has virtual tours available for people who don’t have the ability to actually visit it – meaning everyone during the Corona Virus outbreak.
The Northern Lights, Canada
While they are not necessarily a famous landmark, the Northern Lights are still a sight to be seen! Take a look via webcam of the view in Churchill, Manitoba.

The Vatican, Italy
There are a number of different areas that you can virtually tour at the Vatican – and yes, you can see the famous Sistine Chapel.
The Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt
With this site, you can virtually tour a number of different areas of the Pyramids of Giza. There is so much to see, and so much to learn about these ancient creations. This is a great place to start.
Pyramid Builders on Curiosity Stream is a great documentary, if you are interested in that sort of thing, too.
Mount Vernon, US
You can take a virtual tour of the site of George Washington’s home. The first president of the United States had an expansive mansion and estate – all of which you can view online.
If You are interested in the history of George Washington, I suggest watching George Washington: The Father of A Nation on Curiosity Stream.
Taj Mahal, India
Another of the world’s most famous landscapes, the Taj Mahal can be seen via virtual tour through this site. It also gives you some information about the site, and some tips for traveling there, when it’s actually possible again.

The Eiffel Tower, Paris
While there is no actual virtual tour of the Eiffel Tower, this site gives some great photos, and information about this historically famous landmark.
CN Tower, Canada
The CN Tower has a webcam set up so you can see the full 360 degree view of the city of Toronto (when the clouds aren’t blocking the view, of course).
This site will give you access to a ton of views and information about the Statue of Liberty – without having to wait in those crazy long lines!
Son Doong Cave, Vietnam
So, wherever we are, we usually have to go an explore in some sort of cave system – they are just so incredible! You can see our post about Tiger Cave Temple in Thailand here, or the Cenote Chaak Tun, in Mexico here.
We have never been to Son Doong Cave in Vietnam, however, it’s now on our list!
Mount Rushmore, US
Since we can’t actually go to see the presidents heads (right now, anyway), a virtual tour of them is the next best thing.
Roman Colosseum, Italy
This site not only gives you incredible views of the Colosseum, but it gives you some great information about the place, along with some tips for actually visiting it (when we are able).

Stonehenge, UK
